New authority leads for truck insurance agents
Reviewed · Numbers are Rookiefeed analysis as of , updated daily
A new authority can't go active until its liability insurance is filed with FMCSA, so every new carrier already has a policy on file. Rookiefeed sends each new authority, about 237 per business day, with the insurer, BIPD coverage and effective date on the row, plus the owner's phone and email, by 7am Central.
What an agent sees on each row
- Insurer on the latest BMC-91 or BMC-91X filing, the BIPD coverage on file and its effective date.
- Effective date means you know roughly when that first policy comes up for renewal.
- Owner and officer names, business phone, cell (flagged for TCPA), email and address.
- Fleet size, equipment, hazmat flag and interstate or intrastate operation, to quote the right risk.

What one policy is worth
New-authority truck liability for a single truck commonly runs $12,000 to $25,000 a year, and agency commission on commercial auto is typically 12.5% to 25%. One placed policy is worth roughly $1,800 to $3,750 a year, recurring at renewal.
Rookiefeed is $59 a month for one state once a week, $149 for one state every day, $299 for up to 8 states and $599 for every state, and you can cancel any time. The State and Regional plans map to the states you're licensed in.
Questions
- Is the insurance data current?
- It's refreshed every morning and shows the filing on record with FMCSA, which can lag a mid-term policy change; verify before quoting.
- Can I filter by insurer?
- Not yet. Every row includes the insurer, so you can sort or filter the CSV. If an insurer filter would help, tell us.
- Can I call these carriers?
- Manual calls and compliant cold email are fine for most agencies. Autodialed or prerecorded calls and texts to cell numbers need prior express written consent under the TCPA; cells are flagged for that reason.
