Check an MC number
See whether a carrier is a new authority, when FMCSA granted it, where it's based, how many trucks it runs and what it hauls. Enter an MC or USDOT number, or part of the company name.
Free, no signup. Covers every FMCSA authority grant and new application since August 30, 2026, updated every morning.
What the check shows
- Authority status today (active, pending, inactive) for each MC, MX or FF docket on the USDOT number
- Grant date and how many days ago that was, application date and days from application to grant
- First-time or returning authority
- Home city and state, power units, drivers, interstate or intrastate, and an equipment guess from the registered cargo
Want them all, not one at a time? Today's new MC numbers lists a sample of each morning's grants for free.
Questions
What can I check here?
Any MC, MX or FF docket number, any USDOT number, or part of a company name. You get the authority status, when it was granted or applied for, whether it is a first-time authority, the home city and state, power units, drivers and an equipment guess from the cargo the carrier registered.
Why does it say a number wasn't found?
This tool covers every authority grant and new application FMCSA has published since August 30, 2026. A carrier that got its authority before that and has had no new grant or application since won't be here.
How new is a new authority?
We count days from FMCSA's grant date. A first-time authority means the docket never held active authority before; a returning one was reinstated or granted again after a lapse, and is more likely to have a factor and insurance relationships already.
How current is it?
It's Rookiefeed analysis, refreshed every morning. We aren't affiliated with FMCSA. Status can change during the day; check with FMCSA before relying on it for a load or a policy.
Why no phone number or email?
Contact details are what Rookiefeed subscribers pay for. They get every new carrier in their states each morning by 7am Central with the owner's name, phone, email and the insurer on file. Plans start at $59 a month, or try one state for 7 days for $19.
